Hand Therapy Training for Rehab Specialists…
Who are the courses designed for?
Hands-On Rehab offer a range of hand therapy training sessions for healthcare professionals involved in the assessment and treatment of hand and wrist injuries/conditions. The sessions include a summary of relevant functional anatomy, a review of imaging and assessment techniques and rehabilitation options aimed at maximising patient outcomes. Who will be presenting?
Hands-On Rehab sessions are provided by three experienced hand therapists who continue to work in the NHS and remain committed to lifelong learning and development. Emma Scott is Team Lead and Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Hand Therapy at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, having previously worked at Salisbury District Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hand Units. Emma is also an experienced educator, having been involved in delivering similar sessions in the past, and more recently presenting at the South West Peninsula Orthopaedic Registrar training day on tendon rehabilitation.
Rob Jefferies is a Specialist Physiotherapist in Hand Therapist at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Rob has shown huge commitment in advancing his clinical knowledge and skills through the completion of many BAHT validated courses, including the management of the wrist, radiographic imaging of the hand and wrist, management of flexor and extensor tendon injuries and work-related upper limb disorders. Rob has also presented previously at the Peninsula Orthopaedic Registrar training day on extensor tendon rehabilitation.
Matt Allen is a Specialist Occupational Therapist in Hand Therapy, also based the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Matt has also attended a number of BAHT validated courses, which include fractures of the hand and wrist, management of flexor and extensor tendon injuries and management of the wrist. Matt has been involved in the Registrar training day on a number of occasions and has also presented on the topic of hand therapy to the Occupational Therapy BSc and MSc students at Plymouth University.
Where will they be held?
